Site Review Sample (PDF) Sample AAA Site Map (PDF) |
The most important step in planning a website is understanding the purpose of the site and who you are trying to attract. Before you even make a commitment, we take the time to meet with you to help determine your goals. Often a Site Review will be done to help assess your present site and ways that it can be improved. (See Site Review) You will be asked to submit any content - written or visual that can be used in designing or developing the site. After analyzing what you have, if additional content is recommended, we'll either suggest new areas that should be created or suggest ways that other collaterol material that your company presently uses, perhaps as promotional material, can be applied. Either way you won't be left to do all of this on your own. As a professional writer, content you have or have been thinking about will be reworked for the website environment to insure usability and maximum return on investment. We take an individual approach to every website that we produce. Just as no two companies should have the same brand, no two sites should look or feel the same. We take the time to work with you and your staff to create a site that people will identify as truly yours. Phase 1 - ResearchWe collect the necessary information to determine whether you have applicable content or need help in either writing or developing graphics. This is when a determination is made for any programming needs outside of basic html. We will go through your material and if you like, make recommendations regarding the content that will be used on the site. It is crucial that all material be gathered and assigned before production begins. Phase 2 - Information ArchitectureOnce we determine the breadth of the site as well as primary links, we produce a "mock-up"- or Blueprint. The Blueprint is a graphic depiction of the actual site showing the site architecture with all pages to be included. Once we get a sign-off on this, we will start working on the design. A wireframe, or basic outline of the way the page will be designed will also be submitted for approval. (See Sample Site Map) This is when a graphic representation of the site is produced showing the website design, links, and graphics for the primary and secondary pages. After approval is received, we begin the actual production of the website. The design is done in Photoshop and is strictly a pictoral rendition of what your site will look like. (See Sample Designs) Phase 3 - DevelopmentAfter the sitemap and design is approved, we will enter the production phase where the actual programming and the continued development of special graphics is generated. This is also the time when back-end programming like databases, etc are completed. Depending upon the complexity of the site, this phase may be broken into two or more parts. Phase 4The testing phase. All clients receive a one-month trial period to make any minor corrections to their site. Strategic AlliancesThe production team can include a graphic artist, programmer, or other personnel that will insure that the site will be designed to meet your needs. Pictures In Motion also has relationships with other vendors who can bring additional expertise in the areas of multi-media, interactive online courses, or streaming video. |
